The summer of 2019 the Spirit Orcas travelled to the central coast of British Columbia to a place called Waglisla (Bella Bella) in the heart of the traditional territory of the Heiltsuk Nation. The region is also known at the Great Bear Rainforest.
While there, they stayed at Drifters Cove on Denny Island. They spend the first few days in the territory acclimating to the water, terrain and culture. In preparation for their swim.
