We grateful to KMS Tools Victoria!
A few times a year we are invited to cook up and serve smokies to the KMS community While there, we are given an opportunity to share the Spirit Orca story and receive donations.
Donations from the event help the Spirit Orcas pay for travel costs related to Great Big Adventure Life Skills Training Camps such as their swims in Heiltsuk territory in the Great Bear Rainforest. These adventures may look like open water swim trips, but they are so much more. Participants meet monthly to plan out all aspects of the trip including their budget, fundraising, travel, food, what to bring, and training for the swim, as well as research local knowledge so they know what to expect.
This year the Spirit Orcas will be staying a bit closer to home and spending time at Hope Bay on Pender Island.
Please join them for a smokie at KMS Tools & Equipment Victoria, #101, 765 Vanalman Avenue on Thursday, Friday or Saturday February 8, 9 & 10 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
